CSense 2024 Overview

Welcome to Proficy CSense!

Proficy CSense is industrial analytics software designed for process optimization in manufacturing plants, effortlessly integrating with various OT systems to reduce process variability. It leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, enabling process engineers to combine data across industrial data sources and rapidly. This facilitates the rapid identification of issues, root cause analysis, performance prediction, and automated actions to enhance quality, utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency. Providing five analytics capabilities in one user-friendly package, Proficy CSense helps organizations in cost reduction by turning raw data into potential business value. Engineers and data scientists can perform real-time analysis, monitoring, prediction, simulation, and optimization, including control setpoints adjustment.

Moreover, Proficy CSense facilitates the capabilities to mine insight from historical data, and rapidly develop, test, and deploy simple calculations, predictive analytics, and optimization and control solutions to reduce variability and improve operations.

Proficy CSense 2024, a 64-bit application, uses a suite of components to diagnose and comprehend the causes of process deviations in industrial environments. This combination provides comprehensive and integrated process performance enhancements for specific assets or sets of key performance indicators (KPIs) within an industrial process.

Standard Editions

These components are packaged into three distinct editions of the software, each catering to unique requirements and licensed separately. The following provides a concise overview of each edition, along with the components included in it:

Troubleshooter Edition: Suitable for offline, ad hoc, or on-demand data analysis, process modeling, and troubleshooting. Includes Continuous Troubleshooter, Discrete and Batch Troubleshooter, and all external data connectors.
Runtime Edition: Suitable for permanent production, deployment, and management of analytic solutions. Includes Architect, and CSense Runtime Manager.
Developer Edition: Suitable for expert users with analytics and/or software development expertise. Used for process modeling, troubleshooting, and developing and testing analytic solutions. Includes Continuous Troubleshooter, Discrete and Batch Troubleshooter, and CSense Runtime Manager.

Special Editions

SCADA Starter Runtime Edition: This is a limited edition that includes one tag runtime license for deployment of one instance of each templates provided, and/or one custom analytic with a maximum of one output tag. This edition is included as part of the SCADA applications that you purchase, such as, CIMPLICITY and iFIX. Includes Architect, and CSense Runtime Manager.
Historian Starter Runtime Edition: This is a limited edition that includes one tag runtime license for deployment of one instance of each templates provided, and/or one custom analytic with a maximum of one output tag. This edition is included as part of Proficy Historian term licenses, and Proficy Historian for Cloud subscriptions. Includes Architect, and CSense Runtime Manager.

Continuous Troubleshooter, and Discrete & Batch Troubleshooter	Proficy CSense Troubleshooters provide a rapid process troubleshooting environment for engineers to analyze, monitor, predict, simulate, and optimize continuous, discrete, and batch industrial processes and assets using production data from various historical data sources. Data is prepared and visualized, and rules-based and data-driven process models can be constructed. The knowledge extracted from these models allows you to estimate the benefit of proposed process changes, all with a few button clicks. Using this modelled system, root causes of process deviations are identified, so processes can be corrected to produce a consistent product at optimal yield levels.	Troubleshooter and Developer Editions
Architect	This is a rich and powerful visual integrated development environment (IDE) for engineers and data scientists to configure and test analytics for industrial data from real-time and historical data providers. This comprehensive development platform provides drag-and-drop building blocks that allow users to build and test calculations, predictive analytics, and real-time optimization and quickly develop scalable, robust solutions. These solutions are saved as reusable templates for easy deployment to similar assets or process units, either in real-time or as scheduled events, through the CSense Runtime Manager. A solution is generally developed from a combination of recipes for data preparation, a blueprint of data actions, and a method for sinking data for reuse, either in the CSense Runtime Manager, or a number of third-party applications. CSense Runtime Manager	The CSense Runtime Manager provides a simple and easy way to deploy and monitor Action Objects. An Action Object (AO) is the name given to an executing configuration, which could have been created and deployed from a number of sources, including Architect and Process+ to name a few. An executing Action Object is an OPC Classic Server and can be connected to from OPC Classic clients. There are different types of Action Objects that can be deployed: Event-based Action Objects Process+ Action Objects Real-time Action Objects Scheduled Action Objects	Runtime, Developer, SCADA Starter Runtime and Historian Starter Runtime Editions
